New Delhi: Sunita Kejriwal and Delhi Minister Atishi met Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, lodged in Tihar Jail, on Monday. This information was given by a jail official.
CM Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi reached Tihar at around 12.40 pm.
While talking to journalists after meeting CM Kejriwal, Atishi said that during the meeting, the CM first asked about the well being of the people of Delhi.
He asked whether medicines were adequately available in hospitals or not. He is very concerned about the people of Delhi. He also had a message for women and assured them that he would soon announce a promise of Rs 1,000 per month for women in Delhi.”
Atishi also raised questions as to why Sunita Kejriwal was refused to meet the Chief Minister first. After meeting the CM, he said, “Earlier political prisoners were treated with respect, but now it seems to be turning into dictatorship.”
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is also going to meet CM Kejriwal on Tuesday.
CM Kejriwal, arrested on March 21 by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the alleged excise scam, is lodged in Tihar Jail No. 2.
The Chief Minister provided a list of six persons whom he wanted to meet in jail. The ED has termed CM Kejriwal as the “key conspirator” of the alleged excise duty scam in connivance with other Delhi government ministers, AAP leaders and other persons.
On April 28, Sunita Kejriwal held a roadshow in West Delhi and called Delhi CM “sher (Lion)”. She said that he was jailed because he had built schools, provided free electricity and opened Mohalla Clinics in the national capital.
“What is the fault of Arvind Kejriwal? His fault is he gave free electricity, earlier there used to be a lot of power cuts but now we get electricity 24 hours, schools are being made for your students, Mohalla clinics were made and now every month, women will be given ₹1000. Arvind Kejriwal is a “Sher” (lion),” ANI quoted her as saying.
