Lucknow Police Launches 3-Day Digital Training Workshop for Pink Booth Officers to Boost Women’s Safety

Lucknow: In a significant move aimed at enhancing women’s safety and strengthening the technical capabilities of Pink Booths, the Lucknow Police has initiated a three-day digital training workshop at the Police Lines’ Sangoshthi Sadan. The workshop is equipping 23 Pink Booth Officers (PBOs) from the central zone with essential digital skills.

Digital Empowerment for Safer Communities

On the first day of the workshop, participants received in-depth sessions on cyber fraud, the online complaint portal, and the Samvaad Saathi portal. Cyber expert Gautam Mishra led the sessions, training women police personnel on identifying phishing attempts, online scams, and data breaches. He also guided them on effective complaint handling, maintaining victim confidentiality, and following secure reporting protocols.

Interactive Learning and Real-Time Demos

The workshop witnessed active participation from the Pink Booth Officers, who raised practical queries regarding the protection of mobile number privacy, quick response protocols, and procedures for collecting digital evidence. Live demonstrations were conducted to help the officers understand the end-to-end process of filing cybercrime complaints through digital platforms.

Part of ‘Mahila Suraksha, Samriddhi Ki Guarantee’ Initiative

This initiative is part of the Lucknow Police’s broader mission titled “Mahila Suraksha, Samriddhi ki Guarantee”, which aims to transform Pink Booths into technology-enabled, woman-friendly spaces. The goal is to ensure that women feel empowered and confident to report cybercrimes without hesitation.

Over the next two days, the workshop will feature focused sessions on legal procedures, emerging forms of cybercrime, and developing community engagement skills.

Expected Outcomes of the Workshop

  • Enhanced digital proficiency among women police personnel, enabling more efficient investigation and reporting of cybercrimes.

  • Increased cyber awareness among women, fostering greater trust and engagement with law enforcement agencies.

The initiative underscores the proactive approach of Lucknow Police in merging technology with community policing, creating a safer and more responsive environment for women in the digital age.
