Lucknow: Chitrakoot, a significant site in the Ramayana Circuit, is set to become a major center for religious, spiritual, and nature-based tourism. The Uttar Pradesh Eco-Tourism Development Board will construct an eco-tourism theme park near Ranipur Tiger Reserve. The grand park, spanning seven acres, has been allocated ₹11.77 crore, with ₹5 crore already sanctioned for the project.
Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh provided details about the project today, emphasizing that the park is being developed with a focus on natural beauty and environmental conservation. The initiative aims to bring tourists closer to nature and promote eco-friendly tourism. Singh assured that the park will be designed in an environmentally sustainable manner, ensuring the protection of biodiversity while also boosting the local economy through increased tourism.
To enhance eco-friendly tourism, the park will feature modern eco-lodges equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. A special aromatic garden, filled with fragrant plants, will be developed, adding to the serene experience for visitors. Additionally, a dedicated food court or eco-huts will offer local and traditional delicacies. A scenic water reservoir will be created to preserve and enhance the park’s biodiversity. Visitors will also enjoy a lush green central lawn and seasonally themed gardens. A play area will be set up for children, making the park an attractive destination for families.
The Minister further elaborated that the park will include nature trails, a bamboo garden, and specialized walking tracks designed to provide health benefits. A modern amphitheater will host cultural and entertainment programs. One of the park’s main attractions will be a unique rock garden made of natural rock formations. A butterfly garden, designed to attract various butterfly species, will add to the park’s charm. Adventure enthusiasts will have access to an adventure play zone featuring thrilling outdoor activities. A dedicated plantation area will contribute to environmental balance and sustainability, creating a seamless blend of natural beauty and modern amenities.

Jaiveer Singh expressed confidence that this initiative will attract both domestic and international tourists. The project is expected to significantly boost tourist footfall in Chitrakoot while generating new employment opportunities for local residents. This government initiative will set a new benchmark for eco-friendly tourism and position Chitrakoot as a premier travel destination.
