43 children of Vidya Kiran Vidyalaya meet U.P. Governor

Lucknow: 43 children of ‘Vidya Kiran Vidyalaya’, officials of the organization and teachers, run by Air Force Family Welfare Association, Lucknow (AFFWA), met State Governor  Anandiben Patel at Raj Bhavan. Before the meeting the children took a tour of Raj Bhavan.

While talking to the children during the meeting, the Governor inspired the children to write about their travel experiences. She said that they should also tell their parents about the things seen during the trip. During the discussion, she asked the children about the flowers, various plants, statues, artefacts in the various gardens of the Raj Bhavan, the statues displayed in the Panchatantra garden and the stories of Panchatantra related to them and also encouraged them after listening to the stories narrated by the children. She asked the children to remember the objects, places, trees and plants seen on the way during the trip and after returning, write about them and show it to the teachers.

The Governor stressed upon the officials of the organization accompanying the children to develop the habit of cleanliness among the children during the visit. She said that the children should take care of the cleanliness of the place where they visit and wherever they stay during the trip, they should ensure cleanliness before leaving that place.

In this sequence, the Governor also shared with the children his various experiences of taking children on trips during his tenure as a teacher. She also asked the teachers of the organization to take the children on an educational tour and before the tour, motivated the children to acquire information about the geographical-historical and terrestrial culture of the visited place.

While giving information to the Governor on this occasion, Flight Lieutenant Kavitha Sharma said that various activities are being conducted by Air Force Family Welfare at Lucknow Air Force Station, Bakshi Ka Talab of Central Air Command. Vidya Kiran Vidyalaya is also being run under these. In this school, classes are conducted in two categories from class 1 to 5 and 6 to 8. In these classes, additional education, tuition, various activities related to personality building, skills, various training activities like candle making, wax lamp making, paper bag making etc. are provided to the children studying in nearby rural areas and also to the children who are not going to school.

Classes and programs are run for proficiency in. This organization also takes these children on various knowledge enhancing tours. He told that at present the programs for these programs are being conducted by the president and director of the organization, Mrs. Shivani Rawat. In today’s tour, 22 girls and 21 boys visited Raj Bhavan.

On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary to Governor Dr. Sudhir Mahadev Bobde, Group Captain Air Force  Gagan Kohli, other members and officials of the organization, school students and other officials were present.
