Youngsters give a patient ear to Psychology expert

Lucknow: In continuation with the 7 days UGC-NET Workshop for students of Psychology on the second day i.e. 24th May 2024, the speaker for the first session was Dr. Archana Shukla, Head, Department of Psychology, University of Lucknow. The topic of her session was “Buddhism and Sufism” in which she discussed about the principles and importance of practicing Buddhism and Sufism. She began the session with the origin of Sufism and elucidated about the four stages of Sufi Practice.

She told about how Sufism views human development as an evolutionary perspective. Further, she also talked about the purity of one’s mind and body and how to become a divine soul. She also enlightened the students about Asakti, Anasakti, Panchkosh and the concept of rebirth. During the session, queries of students were resolved by her.

On the second day of the workshop the speaker for the second session was Dr. Ridhima Shukla, Associate Professor and Coordinator, Department of Psychology, Christ University (Deemed to be university). Her lecture was on “Factor Analysis” in which she delivered an in-depth knowledge to the aspirants. She said that Factor analysis is a statistical method used in psychometric tool construction. It can be used for purposes like data reduction, identifying latent variables and testing hypotheses about variables.

After their sessions the speakers were given vote of thanks and were provided with certificate of appreciation.
