Lucknow: A debate competition was organized in IT College Lucknow to celebrate the centenary year of late Kamla Bahuguna. The topic of the debate was “Can giving reservation to women lead to real progress in India?”
Aradhana Shukla IAS (Retd.) was present as the chief guest in the program and while expressing her views about late Kamla Bahuguna, she inspired women for empowerment and encouraged them to come forward and set new standards in the society.
She praised her and her work and paid emotional tribute to her and described such a personality as an example for women. Professor Ashok Dubey was present as the special guest in the program. In his speech, Professor Dubey encouraged the girl students to move ahead in all fields and face challenges.
Along with this, Pramila Arora, Member Social Welfare, Narendra Tripathi were specially present.
This competition was organized in 40 universities of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh in the memory of Rita Joshi Bahuguna’s mother. For the first time it was organized in IT College. 10 teams participated in this competition organized in the program today.
Among the winning students Kawal Jeet Kaur Walia got the first place, Samia Hadi got the second place and Akanksha Dwivedi got the third place. The winning participants were honored with trophies and certificates. Professor Seema Joshi, Professor Anupama Shrivastava, Professor Rekha Gupta were present in the jury of the competition.
The Principal of the college Professor Panzy Singh welcomed all the honored guests and highlighted their achievements and presented the outline and objective of the program before everyone. The program coordinator Professor Neetu Sharma efficiently conducted the program and finally concluded the program with a vote of thanks.
