Lucknow: The Special Task Force (STF), Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, has achieved a significant success by arresting a wanted and rewarded accused involved in a serious criminal case registered at Police Station Delhupur, District Pratapgarh. The accused, Abdullah alias Noor Abdullah, carrying a reward of ₹50,000, was arrested from Prayagraj on 26 April 2026.
According to Press Note No. 125 issued by the STF, the arrest relates to Case Crime No. 02/2026, registered under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 3/5/8 of the Cow Slaughter Prevention Act at Police Station Delhupur, Pratapgarh.
Arrest Details
The accused has been identified as:
Abdullah alias Noor Abdullah, son of Sagir Ahmad, resident of village Mau Aima, Police Station Mau Aima, District Prayagraj. His present address was recorded as Old Katra, Police Station Colonelganj, Prayagraj.
He was arrested near Hawai Jahaj Chauraha, opposite Anand Hospital, Colonelganj area, Prayagraj, on 26 April 2026 at around 21:30 hours.
STF Operation and Surveillance
Acting on directives issued for the arrest of absconding and rewarded criminals, STF units across Uttar Pradesh intensified intelligence collection and operational efforts. Under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police Shailesh Pratap Singh, STF Field Unit Prayagraj, and leadership of Inspector Jai Prakash Rai, continuous surveillance was being maintained.
A dedicated team comprising Sub-Inspector Vinay Tiwari, Head Constables Habib Siddiqui, Abhishek Mishra, and Vikas Tiwari, along with Head Constable Driver Ram Lakhan Pal, was actively engaged in intelligence gathering and field operations in Prayagraj.

During the operation, credible information was received that the wanted accused was present in the Colonelganj area of Prayagraj. Acting swiftly on the input, the STF team conducted a targeted operation and successfully apprehended him.
Interrogation and Allegations
During interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to his involvement in a criminal incident dated 16/17 January 2026, in which he and his associates are said to have stolen cattle from village Barsanda, slaughtered them, disposed of the heads in a river, and transported meat for sale.
Following the incident, a case was registered at Police Station Delhupur, Pratapgarh. The accused stated that after learning about the ₹50,000 reward announced on his arrest, he went into hiding to evade law enforcement.
Legal Action
The arrested accused has been formally handed over in connection with Case Crime No. 02/2026 under Section 303(2) BNS and Sections 3/5/8 of the Cow Slaughter Prevention Act, Police Station Delhupur, District Pratapgarh. Further legal proceedings are being carried out by the local police.
The STF has reiterated its continued commitment to tracking and apprehending absconding criminals and maintaining law and order across the state.
