UP SNA’s Three-Day Regional Theatre Festival from March 17 to 19

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Akademi (UP SNA) is set to organize a three-day Regional Theatre Festival from March 17 to 19 at the Sant Gadgeji Maharaj Auditorium in Gomti Nagar. The event, scheduled to begin at 6:30 PM each evening, will be open to the public free of charge.

Dr. Shobhit Kumar Nahar, Director of the Akademi, announced on Saturday, March 15, that the festival’s inaugural evening will feature a performance of “Rashmirathi” by the cultural group ‘Sanskritik Sangam’ from Deoria-Salempur. The play, directed by Manvendra Kumar Tripathi, is based on the legendary work “Rashmirathi” by renowned Hindi poet Ramdhari Singh ‘Dinkar.’ The adaptation has been done by Anil Mehrotra.

On the second evening, the festival will showcase “Aakhri Basant,” presented by Darpan Lucknow. The play has been written and directed by Shubdeep Raha.

The final evening will feature “Bhuvneshwar-Dar-Bhuvneshwar,” performed by the theatre group ‘Gaganika’ from Shahjahanpur. The play, directed by Captain Singh ‘Karnadhar,’ is written by Meera Kant.

The festival aims to celebrate regional theatrical talent and provide a platform for emerging artists to showcase their creativity.
