Lucknow: The University of Lucknow has proudly announced its outstanding performance in the recently released National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings for 2024. It has secured its rank amongst the top 100 universities in NIRF, declared by the Ministry of Education, Govt of India.
With this achievement, the university has again sealed its place amongst the firsts of higher education in the state of Uttar Pradesh. University of Lucknow has become the first non-specialist state university of Uttar Pradesh to breach the top 100 universities.
The university has once again demonstrated its commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and holistic development, securing a commendable position among the top institutions in India.
This year, the University of Lucknow has achieved a ranking of 97 in the universities, 32 in state universities and 23 in law category reflecting its continuous efforts to elevate the standards of education, research, and student development. Last year the university was placed in 101-150 rank bank and prior to that we were in rank band 151-200.
Prof. Alok Kumar Rai, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lucknow, expressed his delight at this achievement, stating, “This ranking is a recognition of the dedication and efforts of the entire University of Lucknow community. It underscores our commitment to fostering an environment of academic rigor, research innovation, and social responsibility. The university has been making significant strides in enhancing its infrastructure, research capabilities, and student engagement initiatives (the first institution to implement NEP in India as well as in the state). It has significantly improved the teacher-student ratio by hiring more than 220 faculty members in last four years.
Further the massive placement drives have also helped university achieve this rank. This achievement in the NIRF rankings serves as a catalyst for further progress and reinforces the university’s vision to be a center of excellence in education.
The NIRF rankings are a prestigious benchmark in Indian higher education, evaluating institutions based on several parameters including Teaching, Learning & Resources, Research and Professional Practice, Graduation Outcomes, Outreach and Inclusivity, and Perception. The University of Lucknow’s performance across these parameters reflects its robust educational practices and its role as a leader in higher education in India.
