Umpires for India, England clash announced

New York: India and England will face each other in the second semi-final match of T20 World Cup 2024. The first semi-final match will be played between South Africa and Afghanistan on Thursday, June 27. The second match will also be played on the same day. Umpires have been announced for both the semi-final matches.

The on-field umpires in the semi-final match between India and England to be held on Thursday will be New Zealand’s Chris Gaffney and Australia’s Rodney Tucker. Joel Wilson will be the TV umpire in this match, while Paul Reiffel will be the fourth umpire. New Zealand’s Jeffrey Crowe will play the role of match referee.

Nitin Menon will also umpire

At the same time, England’s Richard Illingworth and India’s Nitin Menon will be the on-field umpires in the first semi-final between South Africa and Afghanistan. West Indies’ Richie Richardson has been appointed as the match referee for this match.

India has been in first place

The Indian team is performing brilliantly in the T20 World Cup. It qualified for the semi-finals by defeating Australia. India is undefeated in this tournament so far and also secured the top position in the Super Eight after the group stage. On the other hand, England defeated the USA to qualify for the semi-finals. Earlier also in 2022, both the teams faced each other in the last four, where the England team won and made it to the final. India would like to avenge that defeat.
