Samajwadi Party vents ire over Covishield fiasco

Samajwadi Party

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party national president and former UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has cornered the Modi government at the center over the disadvantages of the corona vaccine Covishield. He posted on Twitter that the ruling party has gambled with the lives of the people by taking donations from the vaccine company. He said his  doubts and fears have been proven right.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav wrote in his post that about 80 crore Indians have been given the Covishield vaccine at the rate of 2 vaccines per person, about which the company that made its original formula has said that it can cause a risk of heart attack.

Samajwadi Party chief wrote that the public will never forgive those who play with the lives of people. Allowing such deadly medicines is equivalent to a conspiracy to murder someone and all those responsible for this should be prosecuted. The ruling party has put the lives of the public at stake by collecting political donations from the vaccine manufacturing company. Neither the law will ever forgive them, nor the public. There should be a judicial inquiry at the highest level in this matter.

Reportedly British pharma company AstraZeneca has admitted that its COVID-19 vaccine, developed by researchers at Oxford University, can cause problems of blood clotting and low platelet count after vaccination. In India, this vaccine is called Covishield, which was administered to people during the Corona period. His remarks came after another opposition leader, Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Saurabh Bharadwaj, alleged that the Centre continued to insist Indians take the Covishield jab even after there were reports suggesting that there could be side effects of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
