Lucknow: Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University (RMLNLU), Lucknow, successfully organized the 14th edition of Litigium, the university’s annual Freshers’ Debate, from August 29 to 31, 2025. The event, conducted by the Debating and Discussion Committee, marked a continuation of the tradition that introduces first-year students to the world of parliamentary debating.
Designed as a platform for analytical reasoning, critical thinking, and structured engagement, the competition witnessed enthusiastic participation with 105 registered debaters. Over three days, students competed in multiple preliminary and knockout rounds that tested their logic, teamwork, and persuasive abilities. The motions spanned a wide range of contemporary issues, offering participants the chance to refine their spontaneity and intellectual agility.
The Grand Final, held on August 31, featured two outstanding teams—Aaliya, Jayashree, and Akshit versus Bhavya, Reeva, and Devika. The debate showcased sharp arguments and compelling rebuttals, reflecting the promise and talent of the freshers’ batch.
The winners were declared as follows:
- Champion Team: Aaliya, Jayashree, Akshit
- Runners-up Team: Bhavya, Reeva, Devika
- Best Speaker (Preliminary Rounds): Khyati Naudiyal
The event concluded with a valedictory ceremony graced by Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Amar Pal Singh, Faculty Coordinator Dr. Amandeep Singh, and other distinguished faculty members. The ceremony celebrated the achievements of the participants while commending the Debating and Discussion Committee for nurturing the university’s vibrant culture of debate.
