Hathras: Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, visited the relatives of those who lost their lives in the Hathras stampede in Uttar Pradesh on Friday. The stampede claimed the lives of over 100 people.
Gandhi stopped at Aligarh to speak with the relatives of the victims in the area before heading to Hathras to meet with family members.
Along with state Congress leader Ajay Rai, state Congress in-charge Avinash Pande, party spokeswoman Supriya Shrinate, and other office bearers, Gandhi left Delhi early on Friday morning by road for Hathras.
Tuesday’s stampede at the satsang of self-styled godman Baba Bhole in Hathras claimed the lives of 121 individuals, the bulk of whom were women.
The Congress leader was seen mingling with the relatives of the Hathras stampede victims in Aligarh.
Gandhi departed Delhi at about 5:10 a.m., Rai informed PTI. It was approximately 7.15 am when he arrived in Pilakhna village, Aligarh.
Rai had informed PTI that Rahul Gandhi would see the relatives of the victims at Green Park and Vibhav Nagar, which are close to Navipur Khurd in Hathras, after making a condolence visit to Pilakhna in Aligarh.
A family member of the dead named Monu stated, “He also said that he will try his best to help (us), and will talk to the government as his party is not in power,” in response to a question about the Gandhi visit.
Khusboo, who had suffered the loss of her mother, promised assistance.
Reporters were informed by a different lady who lost her sister-in-law in the rush that Rahul Gandhi had promised the Congress party will assist them. Additionally, he asked us how the event occurred.
She also said that the victims’ care was insufficient and that they may have lived.

A three-member judicial committee led by a senior high court judge was established by the Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday to investigate the Hathras tragedy and consider the possibility that a conspiracy may have caused the stampede.
