NSS BBDU and Reserve Bank of India Organize Joint Session

RBI Officials Engage with Students in Interactive Session

Lucknow: The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Babu Banarasi Das University (BBDU), in collaboration with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), organized an interactive session for students at the Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Auditorium on the BBDU campus. The event was held under the guidance and inspiration of BBD Group Chairperson Alka Das Gupta and BBD Group President Viraj Sagar Das.

The session was inaugurated by BBDU Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. S.C. Sharma, Chief Guest and Arjuna Awardee Ankur Dhama, RBI Ombudsman P.S. Khual, Deputy Ombudsman Hemanti Sarkar, Dean of Student Welfare & Chief Proctor Prof. Dr. S.M.K. Rizvi, NSS Program Coordinator Prof. Dr. Prabhas Pathak, and Program Officer Prof. Dr. Syed Anas Ansar. A distinguished panel from the RBI, including Keshav Kumar, Ravi Kumar Meena, Aditya Kumar, Prashant Kumar Singh, Nimesh Disouria, Piyush Saxena, and Shivansh Kumar Srivastava, engaged with students and provided insights into various currency-related aspects of the RBI’s functioning. Additionally, a Braille booklet was released during the event.

Speaking at the event, Prof. Dr. S.C. Sharma emphasized the critical role of the RBI in regulating India’s monetary policies, ensuring effective banking and financial operations, and curbing illegal financial practices.

RBI Ombudsman P.S. Khual highlighted the importance of cybersecurity in the digital era, stating that awareness is the key to preventing digital fraud. He stressed that educating the youth on cybersecurity measures can significantly reduce cyber fraud incidents.

Addressing the gathering, NSS Program Officer Prof. Dr. Prabhas Pathak explained the RBI’s role in maintaining financial stability through banking, non-banking institutions, and payment systems. He underlined the RBI’s contribution to the nation’s economic growth.

Concluding the event, NSS Program Coordinator Prof. Dr. Prabhas Pathak lauded the successful execution of the session, extended gratitude to all attendees, and wished them a bright future. The event witnessed active participation from NSS volunteers and students.
