New Modi cabinet takes charge

New Delhi: The ministers have started taking charge of their respective ministries from Tuesday, the day after the division of ministries among the ministers in the Narendra Modi government at the Center on Monday evening. Union Minister S. Jaishankar has taken charge as Foreign Minister, Bhupendra Yadav as Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department, Giriraj Singh as Textile Minister, Ashwini Vaishnav as Railway and Information and Broadcasting Minister.

Union Minister of State Kirtivardhan Singh has also taken charge as Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Suresh Gopi as Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas. After taking charge in the ministry, Jayant Chaudhary introduced himself to all the officials, after which he held a meeting with the officials and said that he would prepare a 100-day action plan.

At the same time, Chirag Paswan has taken over as the Minister of Food Processing. As soon as he took charge, he said that he sees the important responsibility of this ministry for the Prime Minister’s resolve of developed India. After taking charge of their respective ministries, these ministers of the Modi government thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving them the responsibility and also told about the challenges and priorities of their respective ministries.

After taking charge as Foreign Minister in South Block, S Jaishankar once again warned Pakistan in strong words regarding terrorism and said that cross-border terrorism cannot be the policy of a good neighboring country. Talking about the challenges, he said that the focus regarding China will be on how to deal with the issues that remain on the border with China.

After taking charge of the Railway Ministry, Ashwini Vaishnav said that Indian Railways is the strong backbone of our country’s economy. There have been huge reforms in the railways in ten years, PM Modi has a very emotional connection with the railways, he has a special focus on the railways and he is grateful to the Prime Minister for giving him the responsibility of the railways again.
