Murder Conspiracy Unraveled: Wife and Her Lover Arrested in Thakurganj

LUCKNOW: A shocking case of murder has been unearthed in the Thakurganj area of Lucknow, where a wife, along with her lover and his accomplices, plotted and executed the murder of her husband. The police swiftly uncovered the truth, which had initially appeared to be a mysterious crime.

On December 30, 2024, a complaint was filed by Rakhi Rathore, the wife of the deceased, who claimed that an unknown assailant had entered their house and murdered her husband, Shatrughan Rathore, late at night. A case (No. 621/24) under Section 103(1) BNS was registered, and the police began investigating the matter.

Upon investigation, the truth came to light. It was revealed that Rakhi Rathore had been having an illicit affair with one of the prime suspects, Dharmendra Rathore, which her husband Shatrughan had been opposing. Unable to handle the interference of her husband in her relationship, Rakhi conspired with Dharmendra and his brothers, Ankith Rathore and Ranjit Vishwakarma, to kill Shatrughan. Their plan was to make it look like Shatrughan had died due to a heart attack after consuming excessive medication, and then proceed with his funeral.

However, their plan failed when the children of the deceased alerted the police and neighbors. The trio then carried out the murder at night, with Dharmendra and his accomplices sneaking into the house and strangling Shatrughan to death.

Thakurganj police arrested the three suspects near the Bhuhur Bridge, and they are being presented before the court. The accused are identified as:

  3. Rakhi Rathore, aged around 40 years, wife of the deceased, a resident of 596M/868A, New Haiderganj, Thakurganj, Lucknow.
