Lucknow: As part of the golden jubilee celebrations of Mumtaz PG College, a special honor ceremony will be held on February 23 to recognize distinguished alumni for their remarkable achievements. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak will felicitate the awardees at the event.
The college, managed by Anjuman Islamul Muslim, has announced that the celebration will take place at the Mohan Meakin Road, Daliganj campus from 6 PM onwards. The alumni to be honored include renowned journalist, poet, and lyricist Hasan Kamal, noted writer and journalist Ahmed Ibrahim Alvi, and internationally acclaimed judo referee Munawwar Anzar. Their contributions in the fields of literature, journalism, and sports have brought immense pride to the institution.
The event will also feature a prestigious All India Mushaira, where prominent poets from across the country will present their poetry. The Mushaira will be inaugurated by Anjuman Islahul Muslimin President Muhammad Suleman, with Vice President Syed Hussain Advocate presiding over the event. Hosted by Nadeem Farrukh, the Mushaira will feature acclaimed poets such as Hasan Kamal, Tahir Faraz, Manzar Bhopali, Shabina Adeeb, Iqbal Ashhar, Hamid Bhusavali, Azm Shakri, Wasif Farooqi, Dr. Hari Om, Hasan Kazmi, Zeenat Ehsan Qureshi, and Nikhat Amrohvi, among others.
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak will grace the event as the chief guest. College manager Athar Nabi has urged poetry enthusiasts to attend and participate in the grand celebration.
