Lucknow’s Rajveer Singh Among Players Selected for Uttar Pradesh’s Under-16 Team for Vijay Merchant Trophy

Lucknow: Lucknow’s promising cricketer, Rajveer Singh, has earned a place in the Uttar Pradesh under-16 cricket team for the prestigious Vijay Merchant Trophy. The 18-member squad, announced by the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) on Tuesday, will compete in the BCCI’s Vijay Merchant Trophy, with the first match set to take place against Gujarat on December 6 in Gwalior.

Singh, who has shown exceptional skill and determination, will represent Lucknow alongside Ayush Pandey from Kanpur, who has secured a spot in the main playing XI. Aditya Singh, also from Kanpur, will join the squad as a net bowler.

The UPCA’s announcement, made by Secretary Arvind Srivastava, also highlighted the regional dominance within the team. Western Uttar Pradesh has contributed significantly to the squad, with Ghaziabad leading the way with five selections. Other areas like Gautam Buddha Nagar, Noida, Saharanpur, and Meerut have also made notable contributions.
