Los Angeles experiences its Oceans moment

Los Angeles: Thieves fled away with $30 million kept in a safe in the city. According to local media, police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are investigating the case.

The theft happened at GardaWorld in Sylmar, a suburb of the San Fernando Valley, on Easter Sunday, sources told the local KABC television station.

The report said that the matter came to light on Monday morning.

Leading local newspaper, the Los Angeles Times, quoted sources as saying that it was one of the biggest cash thefts ever reported in the city.

It has been said in the report that cash was collected and kept here from businessmen of the entire area. The thieves had full knowledge about this.

According to newspaper reports, the previous largest cash robbery in Los Angeles took place on September 12, 1997. During this period the accused had looted Rs 18.9 million.
