Mumbai: Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan has provided crucial details regarding the harrowing stabbing incident involving her husband, actor Saif Ali Khan. The attack occurred during the early hours of January 16 at their residence in Bandra, Mumbai.
In her statement to the Bandra Police, Kareena revealed that Saif took swift action to protect their family, ensuring the safety of their children, Taimur and Jehangir, by sending them along with the ladies to a secure area on the 12th floor of their building.
Details of the Incident
According to Kareena’s account, the assailant:
- Exhibited extreme hostility and did not attempt to steal anything.
- Persistently targeted Saif, stabbing him multiple times.
- Injured the housekeeper, who claimed the intruder demanded ₹1 crore.
Despite the violent encounter, Saif’s intervention ensured the safety of their younger son, Jehangir, affectionately known as Jeh.
Post-Incident Support
Following the attack, Kareena sought refuge at her sister Karisma Kapoor’s home, stating:
“Karisma took me to her house because I was scared after the attack.”
Medical Update
Saif Ali Khan underwent surgery at Lilavati Hospital, where medical professionals removed a 2.5-inch knife from his wound. Key updates include:
- He sustained six knife wounds, with two considered particularly severe due to their proximity to the spine.
- After surgery, Saif was transferred to the intensive care unit and is currently in stable condition.
- He is expected to be discharged on January 21 and has been moved to a private suite for recovery.
