Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh State Women’s Commission has announced a comprehensive women’s public hearing and inspection program to address women’s harassment cases promptly and ensure justice for victims. The initiative, aimed at enhancing the convenience and accessibility for applicants, will be held in government guest houses across multiple districts on November 27, 2024, at 11:00 AM.
Under the chairmanship of senior officials from the Women’s Commission, the program will include public hearings followed by inspections of women’s prisons, girls’ and women’s homes, and Anganwadi centers in each district. This dual approach seeks to address immediate grievances and ensure welfare facilities are functioning effectively.
The Member Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh State Women’s Commission highlighted that this program will cover 25 districts: Gorakhpur, Bahraich, Azamgarh, Basti, Shravasti, Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Kanpur Nagar, Etawah, Ambedkarnagar, Jalaun, Shahjahanpur, Aligarh, Mirzapur, Ghazipur, Kannauj, Farrukhabad, Mahoba, Siddharthnagar, Sultanpur, Mainpuri, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, and Prayagraj.
This initiative underscores the Commission’s commitment to safeguarding women’s rights, addressing grievances efficiently, and ensuring the welfare and security of women across the state.
