Hathras: In a shocking incident, a youth with a criminal background was shot multiple times late on Sunday night near Kadamkhandi in Nagla Shekha village, Sadabad Bisawar area of Hathras. The victim, identified as Harendra alias Hathi, succumbed to his injuries during treatment in Agra. The shooting has left the village in a state of panic.

According to the police, Harendra, a resident of Nagla Chhatti in Kotwali Sadabad, was called from his home by a group of people, believed to be acquaintances. He was taken to a remote location where he was made to drink alcohol before being shot multiple times. The attackers fled the scene, leaving behind liquor bottles, empty glasses, and snack pouches, suggesting a premeditated crime committed by those known to the victim.

Upon hearing the sound of gunfire, villagers rushed to the spot, where they found Harendra lying in a pool of blood. His family members, alerted by the commotion, also arrived. The police were informed, and Harendra was first rushed to a hospital in Khandauli, but the doctors there refused treatment due to the severity of his condition. He was then transferred to Agra, where he died during treatment.

The incident has caused widespread panic in the village. CO Sadabad Himanshu Mathur confirmed the youth’s death and stated that an investigation is underway. A report will be filed once a formal complaint is received, and the police are pursuing leads to apprehend the culprits.

The police suspect that Harendra’s attackers were familiar to him, given the circumstances under which he was lured from his home. Further investigation is expected to shed light on the motive behind the murder.
