Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the work started by the Basic Education and Secondary Education Department in the state is an innovative effort to bring the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the ground in the field of education. There is no alternative to hard work. Success earned through hard work is far-reaching. A person who takes the path of shortcuts in life can never achieve his goal permanently. Success inspires us to move forward and it tells us that we are moving in the right path and right direction.
The Chief Minister addressed the program organized by the Basic Education and Secondary Education Department in Lok Bhawan. On this occasion, the Chief Minister honored the meritorious students of high school and intermediate of various boards and the principals of Nipun schools. He provided text books and school bags to the children of council schools. The Chief Minister inaugurated the process of transfer of Rs 1200 per student to the children of council schools for dress, shoes, socks, sweater, stationery and school bag. He inaugurated 165 upgraded Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls Schools and laid the foundation stone of additional classrooms, auditorium and toilet blocks in DIETs of 11 districts. He launched toll-free number 1800-889-3277 for information about the activities of schools and redressal of problems and also released the educational research compilation ‘Shodh Sangam’.
The Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister has started a campaign to make the country the world leader in the field of education through the National Education Policy-2020, we all have to join this campaign. Uttar Pradesh has to be made the focal point of the country in the field of education. Efforts will also have to be made to establish our schools as new centers of research and innovation. Uttar Pradesh has taken a long leap in the Nipun Bharat Abhiyan. The more we invest in the field of education, the better results we will see in the lives of the present and future generations. A lot needs to be done in the field of education.
The Chief Minister said that a total of 170 meritorious students who secured the first 05 positions in the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Council, Prayagraj and top 10 positions in Uttar Pradesh Secondary Sanskrit Education Council, Central Board of Secondary Education New Delhi and Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination New Delhi in the High School and Intermediate examinations of the year 2024 in the state have been honored today. Among these 170 students, the number of boys is 58 and the number of girls is 112. Which shows that the daughters have performed better and have brought laurels to their parents and educational institutions in the country and the state.
Each student being honored is being given Rs 01 lakh, tablet, citation and medal by the state government. Also, the newly constructed road of their village and city will be named after these meritorious students and the foundation stone of that road will be laid by them in the presence of local public representatives.
Along with the state-level program to honour meritorious students, programmes are being organised today to honour meritorious students at the district level. In these programmes, 505 meritorious students securing top 6th to 10th position in the state-level merit list of high school and intermediate examination of Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education, Prayagraj are being provided with certificates, Rs. 1 lakh, tablets and medals. These 505 meritorious students include 193 boys and 312 girls.
1185 students securing top 10 positions in the district-level merit list of high school and intermediate of Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education, Prayagraj are being provided with certificates, Rs. 21 thousand, tablets and medals. These 1185 students include 521 boys and 664 girls. The state government is working to honour meritorious students so that the coming generation can get inspiration from them to move forward.
The Chief Minister said that ‘School Chalo Abhiyan’ is going to start from 01 July. Officers and teachers associated with basic education should ensure that no child is deprived of going to school. It is our responsibility that all children go to school. This work is the biggest service of the country. Today, an amount of Rs 1200 per student has been transferred through DBT to the bank account of their parents/guardians for dress, shoes-socks, sweaters, stationery and school bags for more than 88 lakh children studying in council schools. Officers and teachers should hold a meeting with the parents of the children and prepare them to buy 02 school uniforms, shoes-socks, bags, books and sweaters. Children should come to school in the prescribed uniform.
The state government has improved the infrastructure and other facilities of council schools through Operation Kanyakalp. Today, a radical change is being seen in the condition of council schools. The number of children in council schools has increased a lot. Now people look at the schools of Basic Education Council with hope. The state government is moving forward towards the next phase of Operation Kayakalp in the form of PM Shri School. The state government has built one Atal residential school in each of the 18 divisions
These schools have emerged as a model in the world of education through their working system. Children of construction workers and destitute children are studying in these Atal Residential Schools. Apart from this, the state government is going to build 57 new Chief Minister Composite Schools in other districts. For this, funds have been made available to the Basic Education Department.
Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls Schools have become a better medium for the girls of poor families to study. Today, 165 Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls Schools, which have been upgraded from Class 9 to Class 12, have been inaugurated. 136 Kasturba Gandhi Residential Schools have been upgraded earlier. The foundation stone of additional classrooms, auditoriums and toilet blocks has been laid in the DIETs of districts Baghpat, Etawah, Badaun, Farrukhabad, Sultanpur, Gonda, Hapur, Jalaun, Rampur, Mau and Shahjahanpur.
The Chief Minister said that the educational research compilation ‘Shodh Sangam’ was released today. Copies of the educational research compilation ‘Shodh Sangam’ should be made available in every school, so that the teachers of the school can be aware of the innovations happening in the field of education in the state. The state government has taken steps to implement the NCERT curriculum in the state in a phased manner. Today, the Basic Education Department has issued a toll-free number 1800-889-3277 for information about the activities of schools and resolving problems. Tablets have been provided to council schools to provide information about school activities.
Continuous work is being done for the betterment of secondary education. Now the high school and intermediate examination of Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education is being completed in a fair and clean manner in 12 days and the result is also coming in the next 14 days. This is an example of working with commitment. Through Project Alankar, the work of rejuvenation of the buildings of government secondary schools and aided schools is being done. Teachers are being recruited continuously.
Minister of State for Basic Education (Independent Charge) Sandeep Singh said that under the leadership of the Chief Minister, in the last 07 years, success has been achieved in providing basic facilities in accordance with 19 parameters in about 95 percent of council schools. Technology is being incorporated in teaching work. Tablets are being provided to schools for quality education. ICT labs are being set up. Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls Schools are being upgraded.
Minister of State for Secondary Education (Independent Charge) Gulab Devi, while addressing the program, said that to reach the goal, one has to work hard continuously while focusing. Due to the guidelines of the Chief Minister, like last year, the UP Board examination of the year 2024 could be completed in a fair and clean manner. Various innovations like Pragyan Portal, Parakh Portal, Pankh Portal have been developed to simplify and strengthen the process of learning.
On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Secondary Education Deepak Kumar, Principal Secretary Basic Education M.K.S. Sundaram, Director General School Education Kanchan Verma, Director Information Shishir along with other senior officers and teachers, students and their parents were present.
