Sonebhadra: Balika Sashaktikaran Abhiyan – 2024 was organized at NTPC Rihand in which 120 selected girls from nearby government schools were brought to Dhanvantari Hospital located in NTPC Rihand campus and the health of the girls was tested.
This program was organized again in 2022 after a pause of 02 years due to COVID-19 circumstances. And like every year, this year also all the parents were eagerly waiting for the Girl Empowerment Campaign, and this program is being organized this year also.
In the year 2018, NTPC had organized a one-month residential training camp under the Girl Empowerment Campaign keeping in mind the all-round development of girls. Under this, the Girl Empowerment Campaign was started as a pilot project in the projects of VSR (Vindhyachal, Singrauli, Rihand) through NTPC Corporate Social Responsibility.
Encouraged by this, in 2019, this program was organized with great enthusiasm in all the projects / stations of NTPC under the Corporate Social Responsibility, in which various trainings were given for the all-round development of thousands of girl students.
Reportedly, a Girl Empowerment Campaign is also organized every year in NTPC Rihand. Under the Girl Empowerment Campaign, girls are not only given education but also all useful training for their overall development like personality development, communication skills, self-defense training, skill development.
Apart from this, while providing knowledge of other daily life useful training like yoga, sports, good touch and bad touch etc., efforts are also made to teach them the art of living in every situation of life.
NTPC Rihand is not limited to only girl empowerment campaign but also keeping in mind the result of evaluation of girls and their interest in education, other needs of the best 10 girls are also being fulfilled by getting them admitted in DAV school of the project.
NTPC Rihand is confident that through these programs there will be a positive change in the lives of these girls and these girls will achieve new dimensions in life through the training received in the camp and will also inspire the girls around them to move ahead in their lives.
