Mirzapur: Carrying the tree plantaton drive forward, various programs were organized from the city to the rural areas of the district and plantation was done. In the program organized before the main program BHU Barkachha, the chief guest was the State Labor and Employment Cabinet Minister Anil Rajbhar and Principal Secretary Social Welfare / Nodal Officer Dr. Hariom and Member Legislative Council Shyam Narayan Singh alias Vineet Singh, MLA Nagar Ratnakar Mishra, MLA Chanbe Rinki Kol, District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan, Chairman Cooperative Jagdish Patel, Chairman Municipality Shyam Sundar Kesari, Chief Water Conservator Manish Mittal, Chief Development Officer Vishal Kumar, apart from other public representatives and officials, plantation was done.
On this occasion, plantation was also done by members of various self-organizations, students of schools, NCC cadets and other officials and citizens. On this occasion, Project Director DRDA, Sub District Magistrate Sadar Asaram Verma and other concerned officers were present.
Addressing the program, the Chief Guest/Labor and Employment Minister said that when the discussion was held on the world stage to deal with this crisis by many countries to fix the environment on earth, then the Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India will lead it by starting a tree plantation campaign. Since 2018, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is making a record by doing massive tree plantation. Due to which there has been a lot of improvement in the green belt. Uttar Pradesh has set an example in the country by planting the maximum number of trees. He said that the protection of the tree planted is more important than planting it.
While discussing Denmark and Japan, he said that the standards of the environment are being taken care of by those countries. We all also need to understand that the tree which is beneficial for human life and animals should be planted. He said that Prime Minister appealed to all the citizens of the country to plant a tree in the name of mother and protect it. He said that mother never takes anything from her children but always gives them her love. Similarly, whenever we plant a tree in the name of mother and protect it and grow it, it will keep benefiting our future generations without taking anything.
He said that today the health of Mother Earth is bad due to excessive cutting of trees, so it is the duty of all of us to bring greenery by planting as many trees as possible to improve her health. On this occasion, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister and Hon’ble MLAs distributed saplings to NCC cadet students and students of other schools and also asked them to plant and take care of them. MLA Nagar said that Vindhya region has been considered important from the point of view of religious tourism and environment. The environment here has always been pure and beneficial for health. The MLA said that earlier there used to be a big well around Ojhala bridge which has dried up today due to lack of rain and falling water level. The falling water level and lack of rain is due to the old trees getting extinct and the environment getting imbalanced. He said that trees are the main basis of our life. Therefore, everyone should take a pledge to protect it along with planting trees.
Member Legislative Council Vineet Singh appealed to the general public and said that the Prime Minister’s resolution should be fulfilled by planting a tree in the name of mother and the target of planting about 36.50 crore saplings in the state by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath should be completed by everyone by planting one tree each. On this occasion, Chairman Jagdish Singh Patel, Chairman Nagar Palika Shyam Sundar Kesari also inspired everyone to plant trees.
On this occasion, Principal Secretary Social Welfare/Nodal Officer Dr. Hariom said that it is more important to protect the tree than to plant it. He said that the tree planted by whomever should be watered at least till the rains come and keep it safe by putting a tree guard, only then the tree plantation campaign will be considered successful. He said that to maintain the balance of the earth environment, polythene or such things should be despised, which do not get destroyed for many days after use, such polythene etc. are very harmful for human life.
Welcoming all the honorable public representatives including the Cabinet Minister, District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan said that a massive tree plantation campaign is being run in the entire district, more than 94 lakh trees are to be planted in the entire district, for which 26 departments have been set different targets to achieve the target. In this campaign, plants of different categories will be planted. He said that along with fruit plants, forest medicinal plants are being promoted. He told that in Ahraura, the people there had demanded Khoraiya wood. For which this seed has been sown after talking to the Divisional Forest Officer, these plants will be ready next year. The Divisional Forest Officer said that 9406318 plants were planted in the district against the target of 9386816.
