“Yashashvini Is Dominating, But There Is an Emotional Side to Her Too”: Bhagyashree Limaye on Her Character in ‘Nine to Five’

Mumbai: Bhagyashree Limaye is gearing up for her upcoming web series Nine to Five, produced by Rusk Media and Alright TV. The actress, known for her work in Sisterhood, Munjya and Satyameva Jayate 2, will be seen playing Yashashvini, a character who brings her own set of complexities to the story. As the series prepares to premiere on the Alright TV YouTube channel, Bhagyashree opens up about understanding her character and finding the balance between her strong personality and emotional side.

Describing Yashashvini, the actress explains that the character cannot be defined by a single trait. While she may come across as dominating and determined, there is more to her than what people initially see.

“Yashashvini is a dominating character, but I think there is an emotional side to her as well. She is not someone who can be understood through just one quality. There are different layers to her personality, and that is what makes her interesting to play. She knows what she wants, but there are also moments when she has to step back and understand a situation differently,” Bhagyashree shares.

For the actress, portraying a character with contrasting qualities also means understanding the reasons behind her behaviour rather than simply playing her as a strong personality. She believes that the audience should be able to see the person behind the character’s actions.

“I think it is important to understand why a character behaves in a particular way. Sometimes, what appears to be a strong or dominating attitude may also come from the circumstances that person is dealing with. As an actor, I try to understand those emotions and bring them into my performance. That makes the character feel more real instead of making her one-dimensional,” she says.

Bhagyashree also believes that the relatability of the characters is one of the key aspects of Nine to Five. The series explores professional environments and the personal experiences that shape people, giving its characters room to be imperfect, emotional and ambitious.

“What I like about stories like this is that the characters are not necessarily perfect. They have their own strengths, weaknesses and ways of dealing with life. That is what makes them human. I hope viewers get to see different shades of Yashashvini and understand her beyond their first impression of her,” the actress concludes.

With Yashashvini, Bhagyashree aims to bring a layered personality to the screen, adding another interesting performance to her body of work.
