Gonda: Kotwali Nagar police arrested two men, Rashid, son of Siddiq, and Chhotu alias Sultan, son of the late Deen Mohammad, in connection with a house theft in Laxmanpuri Colony, Awas Vikas, near RP Lawn.
The complainant, Hazari Lal Gupta, reported that thieves broke the lock of his house on October 15 and stole ₹50,000 in cash and gold and silver ornaments while he and his wife were away.
Police arrested the suspects near the dirt road leading to New Indira Nagar Colony behind Engineering College. Recovered items included a mangalsutra, earrings, silver anklets, a metal glass, coins worth ₹634 and ₹4,800 in cash.
A case was registered under Sections 305(a) and 317(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Sub-Inspector Pintu Kumar Yadav, Head Constables Deepak Kumar Nayak and Vipin Pandey, and Constable Piyush Goswami were part of the police team.
