Taapsee Pannu’s ‘Gandhari’ Tops Netflix Global Chart with 9.6 Million Views

Mumbai: Netflix film Gandhari has emerged as a global streaming success, recording a sharp rise in viewership during its second week and reaching the No. 1 position on the platform’s global non-English movies chart.

According to official global data published by Netflix, Gandhari registered 9.6 million views and 18.7 million viewing hours in its second week, compared with 5.9 million views and 11.5 million hours in its opening week. The second-week figure is being described as the highest one-week viewership recorded by an Indian Netflix Original film.

The film is trending at No. 1 in 17 countries and has secured a place in the Top 10 across 58 countries, reflecting its growing international reach.

The achievement marks writer-producer Kanika Dhillon’s fourth consecutive Netflix blockbuster and the third successful collaboration between Dhillon and actor Taapsee Pannu, following Haseen Dillruba and Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba.

Pannu said the response was “incredible”, adding that the film’s continued growth demonstrated a strong connection with audiences.

Dhillon thanked viewers for their support and said the second-week surge showed that audiences had embraced the story. She also credited Netflix and Monica Shergill for supporting locally rooted Indian stories with global appeal.

Produced by Kathaa Pictures and directed by Devashish Makhija, Gandhari follows a mother’s relentless struggle to rescue her kidnapped child. The film is streaming worldwide on Netflix.
