Bareilly: The National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University organised a cleanliness and plastic-free campus campaign on Thursday to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. The programme was conducted under the guidance of NSS Programme Officer Dr Pawan Kumar Singh.
The campaign began near the Dean of Student Welfare office in the presence of Dean Student Welfare Professor Vinay Rishival. NSS volunteers carried out intensive cleaning drives at the administrative building, Panchal Museum, the park near the Department of Ancient History and Culture and the Placement Cell. They collected plastic bottles, polythene and other waste and disposed of it properly while spreading awareness about a plastic-free environment.
The volunteers later participated in a blood donation awareness drive at the university health centre, with several volunteers donating blood voluntarily.
The Vice Chancellor interacted with the volunteers and shared memories of his own NSS days at Delhi University, including his participation in a de-addiction campaign. He encouraged students to continue contributing to social causes.
