Bareilly: As part of the celebrations leading up to its 24th Convocation Ceremony, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU), Bareilly, organised a painting competition on the theme “My Mother” at the Upper Primary School in Itaunwa Beniram village.
The event, organised by the University’s Cultural Centre under the guidance of Governor and Chancellor Anandiben Patel and Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.P. Singh, is part of a series of competitions for students from primary to intermediate schools aimed at promoting creativity and moral values.
Students enthusiastically participated in the competition, expressing through their artwork the love, care, sacrifice, compassion and respect associated with motherhood. Their paintings reflected imagination, artistic talent and personal emotions, portraying mothers as symbols of affection, strength and inspiration.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. K.P. Singh said painting is a powerful medium for expressing emotions and experiences. He noted that the students’ artworks beautifully reflected their unconditional love and deep emotional bond with their mothers while highlighting the role of mothers as a child’s first teacher, guide and greatest source of inspiration. He added that such activities help children recognise and express their emotions creatively while fostering emotional sensitivity and holistic development.
Cultural Coordinator Dr. Jyoti Pandey said the competition sought to strengthen values of respect for mothers, family bonds, creativity and Indian cultural ideals. She appreciated the enthusiastic participation of students and the support extended by the school’s principal and teachers.
The programme was supported by Registrar Mahendra Kumar Singh, Coordinator Prof. Sanjay Garg, Principal Ragini Pandey, members of the university’s cultural committee, teachers and students. Participants included Roli, Nisha, Mahima, Smriti, Akanksha, Chhaya and Roshni.
