Bond is back

New Delhi: Retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Ajit Doval has been appointed as the National Advisor for the third consecutive time and Dr. P.K. Mishra has been reappointed as the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister. The Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet approved the appointment of these two officers on Thursday. The committee has also appointed retired Indian Administrative Service officers Amit Khare and Tarun Kapoor as Advisors to the Prime Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office.

The Central Personnel and Training Department said that the appointment of Doval and  Mishra will be effective from June 10 and will remain till the tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi or the next order, whichever is earlier. Both the officers have been given the status of Cabinet Minister. A separate notification will be issued regarding the service conditions of the appointment of both the officers. Khare and Kapoor will be appointed for two years and they have been placed at par with the Secretary of the Central Government.
