Governor Anandiben Patel Launches Book on Basic Life Support and Life-Saving Skills

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel on Monday formally released the book “Saathi Haath Badhana – Basic Life Support (BLS): Emergency Response and Life-saving Skills” at Jan Bhavan, highlighting the importance of timely emergency care and public awareness of life-saving techniques.

The book has been authored by Sunil Kumar Yadav, Chief Pharmacist at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Civil Hospital and a certified Basic Life Support (BLS) trainer.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Anandiben Patel praised the initiative and emphasized that timely administration of Basic Life Support can make a critical difference in saving lives during medical emergencies. She congratulated the author on publishing a book that addresses an important public health need and expressed confidence that it would prove valuable for healthcare professionals, students, and the general public alike.

The Governor noted that awareness of emergency response techniques and life-saving skills is essential for building a more prepared and responsive society. She said educational resources such as this book can help people understand and apply scientifically proven methods during emergency situations.

The launch event was attended by publisher Akshay Jain, senior AYUSH medical officer Dr. Avadhesh Dwivedi, Assistant Professor Dr. Mahesh Nath Singh, Ankur Yadav, and Ravindra Yadav, among others.

As part of the programme, the publisher presented ten copies of the book to the Jan Bhavan library. Copies were also gifted to the Governor’s Officer on Special Duty (OSD), ADC, CSO, and other officials present at the event.

According to the author, the book aims to make Basic Life Support, emergency response procedures, and life-saving skills accessible to a wider audience through a simple, scientific, and practical approach. The publication seeks to promote greater awareness and preparedness among citizens so that more lives can be saved during critical emergencies.

The release of the book reflects growing efforts to encourage public participation in emergency care and strengthen community-level knowledge of life-saving interventions.
