IndianOil, BPCL and HPCL Maintain Round-the-Clock Operations to Meet Rising Consumption Across India
New Delhi: Public sector oil marketing companies (OMCs) — IndianOil, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) — have assured consumers of uninterrupted availability of petrol, diesel, and LPG across the country despite a sharp and sudden increase in demand in several regions.
According to an official statement, the three state-owned oil companies are maintaining close operational and logistical coordination to ensure seamless fuel distribution nationwide. The companies have intensified supply-chain management efforts to meet the growing consumption of petroleum products without any disruption.
OMCs reported a significant rise in fuel demand in recent weeks, primarily driven by seasonal agricultural activities and harvesting operations in several states. Additional pressure on demand has also emerged as retail customers increasingly prefer public sector fuel outlets due to comparatively lower prices, while institutional and commercial consumers have likewise shifted towards retail fuel stations for their fuel requirements.
Despite the heightened demand, the public sector oil companies have continued to maintain uninterrupted supplies through their extensive nationwide infrastructure, including fuel terminals, storage depots, pipelines, LPG bottling plants, and retail fuel stations.
To ensure smooth product movement and timely replenishment, supply teams, transport networks, terminal operations, and selected retail outlets are functioning round the clock. The companies are also working in close coordination with state administrations to facilitate efficient distribution and prevent any supply bottlenecks.
The oil industry has reassured consumers that adequate stocks of petrol, diesel, and LPG are available across the country. Officials emphasized that all necessary measures are being taken to maintain uninterrupted supplies and effectively address the increased demand.

The OMCs are continuously reviewing stock positions and closely monitoring logistics and distribution planning to ensure that fuel reaches consumers without delay. Special attention is being given to regions experiencing higher-than-normal consumption to avoid shortages and maintain market stability.
In view of the current situation, consumers have been advised to continue purchasing fuel as per their normal requirements and avoid panic buying or unnecessary stockpiling. The oil companies stressed that there is no cause for concern regarding fuel availability.
Citizens have also been urged to rely only on official communications issued by authorized agencies and oil marketing companies for accurate information related to fuel supplies and stock availability, and to refrain from acting on rumors or unverified reports.
The coordinated efforts of IndianOil, BPCL, and HPCL underscore the public sector’s commitment to ensuring energy security and uninterrupted fuel access for consumers, farmers, businesses, and industries across the country.
