Joint Commissioner directs police personnel to ensure peaceful and smooth celebrations during three-day festival
Lucknow: Ahead of the three-day Bakrid festival beginning on May 28, Lucknow Police Commissionerate held a high-level security and law-and-order review meeting on Tuesday to ensure the festival is conducted peacefully and harmoniously across the city.
The meeting was chaired by the Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), who briefed senior police officers and deployed personnel regarding security arrangements, crowd management and coordination strategies for the upcoming festival period.
Among those present during the meeting were DCP West, Additional DCP West, Assistant Commissioners of Police from Chowk and Bazar Khala divisions, gazetted officers from adjoining districts, Station House Officers of Chowk and Bazar Khala police stations, along with police personnel deployed from the commissionerate and outside districts.

During the briefing, all officers and police personnel were directed to remain fully alert and discharge their duties with utmost responsibility throughout the festival period. Special emphasis was laid on maintaining strict surveillance in sensitive areas, conducting continuous patrolling and ensuring effective law-and-order management.
Officials were also instructed to maintain smooth traffic arrangements and ensure courteous behaviour with the public during festival duties. The police administration further directed teams to keep constant monitoring on social media platforms and take immediate action against rumours or misleading content that could disturb communal harmony.
The Joint Commissioner of Police stressed the importance of coordination, vigilance and prompt response while performing Bakrid duty and instructed all officers to work proactively to ensure the celebrations conclude in a safe, peaceful and cordial atmosphere across the city.
