Lucknow — In a significant breakthrough, the BKT Police Station arrested a 19-year-old youth accused of luring and abducting a minor girl, while also rescuing the victim safely.
According to police officials, the case was registered on April 4, 2026, under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the POCSO Act, following a complaint filed by the victim’s family. The arrested person was accused of enticing the minor and establishing illegal physical relations with her.
Acting swiftly on technical inputs and informant information, the police team apprehended the accused, identified as Shivam, a resident of Madaripur village under BKT police station. He was arrested near the Indaurabagh underpass at around 8:45 AM.
Police confirmed that the minor victim had already been recovered earlier on April 8, 2026. During the arrest, a small amount of cash (₹110) was recovered from the accused.

During interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed to the crime and expressed remorse. He has been taken into custody, and further legal proceedings are underway.
The operation was carried out by a dedicated police team led by Inspector Sanjay Kumar Singh, along with Sub-Inspector Ashok Kumar Yadav, Constable Khaibar Abbas, and Head Constable Rajesh Kumar.
Police officials reiterated their commitment to taking strict action in cases involving crimes against minors, emphasizing that such offences will be dealt with firmly under the law.
