Lucknow University VC Prof. J.P. Saini Appointed Chairman of AICTE Northern Regional Committee

Lucknow: In a significant development, Vice-Chancellor of University of Lucknow, Prof. J. P. Saini, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Northern Regional Committee (NRC) of the All India Council for Technical Education.

According to an official notification issued by AICTE Member Secretary Prof. Shyama Rath (F.No:-7-04/AICTE/RC/2026), the council has reconstituted its eight regional committees under the provisions of the AICTE Act. Prof. Saini’s tenure as Chairman will be for a period of three years from the date of assuming charge.

In his new role, Prof. Saini will oversee and guide technical education across several northern states, including Uttar Pradesh. His responsibilities will include monitoring institutional standards, promoting academic reforms, and ensuring quality enhancement in technical institutions.

Prof. Saini’s appointment is being seen as recognition of his extensive administrative experience and forward-looking vision in higher and technical education. With his leadership at Lucknow University and deep understanding of academic governance, his role at AICTE is expected to contribute significantly to strengthening the technical education ecosystem in the region.
