Lucknow University Hosts Mega Placement Drive 2026, Sets New Benchmark in Campus Recruitment

Lucknow: The Placement Cell (Main Campus) of University of Lucknow successfully organised the Mega Placement Drive 2026, marking a historic milestone in the institution’s placement record. Held under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor Prof. J. P. Saini, the initiative aimed at connecting students with large-scale employment opportunities across sectors.

The drive was conducted jointly by the Placement Cell and the Mahatma Gandhi International Employment Studies Chair, in collaboration with the Employment Mission, Uttar Pradesh, and the Directorate of Employment, Government of Uttar Pradesh. The event witnessed an overwhelming response, with 3,123 candidates registering online and over 1,100 actively participating by mid-afternoon on the day of the drive.

A total of 16 companies had initially confirmed participation; however, due to time constraints, 12 reputed firms took part in the recruitment process. These companies offered diverse opportunities across sectors such as finance, manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, hospitality, and services, significantly broadening the career prospects for students.

Students from the main campus, new campus, and affiliated colleges of the university participated enthusiastically, reflecting the scale and inclusivity of the event.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Anoop Kumar Bhartiya, Chairman of the Placement Cell, who described the initiative as a major step toward strengthening students’ career pathways. In his address, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Saini highlighted the importance of such platforms in bridging academia and industry, noting that bringing multiple companies under one roof enables students to access varied opportunities simultaneously.

Prof. Arvind Mohan emphasised the importance of skill development and ethical values, urging students to equip themselves with emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence. Registrar Dr. Bhavna Mishra encouraged participants to present themselves confidently and uphold the university’s reputation.

Deputy Director (Employment) Tribhuvan Singh stressed the need for adaptability in line with evolving industry demands, while Assistant Director Suryakant Kumar delivered the vote of thanks.

The results of the selection process are expected to be announced by participating companies within the next 7 to 14 days.

The Mega Placement Drive not only opened new employment avenues for students but also strengthened institutional collaboration with industry, laying a solid foundation for future career opportunities.

The event concluded on a positive and inspiring note, reinforcing Lucknow University’s commitment to student success and professional growth.
