Ambedkar Jayanti Celebrated with Enthusiasm at Balika Vidyalaya Inter College

Lucknow | A dignified and vibrant programme was organized on the eve of Ambedkar Jayanti at Balika Vidyalaya Intermediate College, in collaboration with the women’s wing of Bharat Vikas Parishad Chowk.

The event commenced with a warm welcome by Principal Dr Leena Mishra, who felicitated chief guests including Alka Agrawal, Preeti Agrawal, Priyanka Verma, and Manju Agrawal.

The event began with floral tributes to B R Ambedkar, as guests and teachers paid homage to the architect of the Indian Constitution.

Focus on Ambedkar’s Ideals

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Mishra highlighted Dr. Ambedkar’s invaluable contributions towards social justice, equality, and education. She emphasized the continued relevance of his ideals in shaping a progressive and inclusive society.

Alka Agrawal also spoke on the occasion, elaborating on the contemporary significance of Ambedkar’s vision and his enduring influence on democratic values.

Student Competitions and Performances

A series of competitions including speech, poetry recitation, singing, poster-making, and slogan writing were organized for students, showcasing their enthusiasm and creativity.

In the speech competition, Gunjan (Class 6) secured first place, followed by Vanshika Yadav (Class 10). Kajal Tiwari (Class 10) won first prize in poetry recitation, while Divyanshi (Class 6) stood second. In the singing category, Rakhi (Class 9) secured the top position, with Khushi (Class 12) finishing second.

Soumya Mathur was recognized in the slogan competition, while Afreen won accolades in the poster-making category. A special highlight was a performance by Ayesha (Class 8), who portrayed Dr. Ambedkar and delivered an impactful presentation on his thoughts, earning special appreciation.

Event and Participation

The programme was conducted by Kajal Tiwari (Class 10), while judging responsibilities were undertaken by Richa Awasthi and Ragini Yadav.

The event was organized under the guidance of Madhavi Singh, Manjula Yadav, and Pratibha Rani. Several teachers including Uma Rani Yadav, Seema Alok Varshney, Poonam Yadav, Uttara Singh, Anita Srivastava, Meenakshi Gautam, and Ritu Singh were present along with the entire teaching staff.

Food items were also distributed among students during the programme.

Promoting Social Awareness

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and a musical tribute by Madhavi Singh, who presented an inspirational song based on Dr. Ambedkar’s life.

The event served as an important initiative in promoting social awareness, equality, and the value of education among students, reinforcing the timeless ideals of Dr. Ambedkar.
