Lucknow: The Gudamba Police Station Lucknow has arrested an absconding warrant accused in connection with a case under the Gangster Act, officials said on Sunday.
Arrest Following Court-Issued NBW
According to police, the accused was wanted in a non-bailable warrant (NBW) issued by a Special Judge (Gangster Act) court in Lucknow in connection with Case No. 5/16 (Crime No. 160/15) under Sections 2/3 of the Uttar Pradesh Gangster Act.
The accused, identified as Ram Singh (30), a resident of Gudamba village in Lucknow, was apprehended on April 12, 2026, from his residence following a targeted police raid.
Accused Evading Court Appearance
Police officials stated that the accused had been लगातार evading court proceedings and failed to appear before the court despite summons and warrant orders, prompting the issuance of the NBW.

Legal Procedure Followed
Authorities confirmed that the arrest was carried out in strict compliance with directives of the court and guidelines issued by the Human Rights Commission. The accused has been taken into custody and is being produced before the competent court for further legal proceedings.
Police Team Involved
The operation was conducted by a team from Gudamba Police Station led by Sub-Inspector Rahul Dwivedi, along with Constable Ankit Yadav.
Further legal action in the case is currently underway, police added.
