Lucknow: In a move to strengthen India’s rapidly growing creator ecosystem, Snapchat hosted its multi-city initiative ‘Creator Connect’ in Lucknow, bringing together emerging creators, agencies, and publishers on a single platform.
The event marked Snapchat’s first in-person engagement in the city specifically designed for creator agencies and publishing partners. More than 80 top creators, talent agencies, and industry stakeholders participated in the two-hour intensive session, which focused on bridging the gap between raw talent and professional content creation.
At the heart of the summit was ‘Snap School’, a mentorship programme aimed at equipping new creators with advanced storytelling techniques and hands-on training in Snapchat’s creative tools. The platform also highlighted initiatives like ‘Savvy on Snap’, offering customised consulting support and resources to help creators and partners scale their content and reach wider audiences.
Speaking at the event, Saket Jha Saurabh, Director and Head – AR & Content Partnerships at Snap Inc., said that India’s creator ecosystem is evolving rapidly, with culturally rich cities like Lucknow producing remarkable talent. He noted that regional language content, particularly in Hindi, is witnessing strong engagement as creators share authentic, community-driven stories.
Highlighting platform growth, he said Snapchat has over 250 million monthly active users in India, driven by its focus on visual communication and augmented reality (AR) innovation. In Lucknow alone, 83% of users reportedly use lenses to celebrate festivals and share moments with friends and family, reflecting the growing role of AR in digital storytelling.

The company also shared key growth trends in India, including a doubling of time spent watching content over the past two years, a 1.5x rise in official Snap Stars, and a fourfold increase in content posted on Spotlight by creators and publishers.
Through expert-led discussions and hands-on sessions, the event reinforced Snapchat’s “creator-first” approach, offering insights into monetisation opportunities, audience engagement strategies, and the expanding role of AR in content creation. Attendees also experienced immersive AR technologies, including AR mirrors and next-generation Spectacles.
As Snapchat continues to expand its creator-focused initiatives across India, the platform aims to nurture emerging talent, promote authentic storytelling, and enable creators to build sustainable careers in the evolving digital landscape.
