Two Thieves Arrested in Sarojini Nagar with Stolen Auto Parts

Lucknow: The Sarojini Nagar Police Station, with the assistance of local residents, arrested two habitual offenders involved in multiple theft cases and recovered stolen vehicle parts from their possession.

According to police officials, the accused were identified as Shahid Khan alias Abdul Samad Khan (19), a resident of Barabanki, and Aman Kashyap (19), a resident of Sarojini Nagar, Lucknow.

The case came to light after complaints were filed by victims including Ramvriksh Yadav alias Bablu, Mahendra Pratap Trivedi, and Danish, who reported thefts from their garages and scrap shops on different dates in March. CCTV footage from one of the locations helped identify one of the suspects.

Acting on the leads, locals traced and apprehended Shahid Khan in the Badalikheda area. During questioning, he revealed that the stolen goods had been sold to Aman Kashyap. A subsequent search at Kashyap’s scrap shop led to the recovery of stolen items, including vehicle head parts, pistons, an oil pump, a chamber, a tappet cover, a gas cutter, and regulators.

Both accused were brought to the police station, where a case (FIR No. 109/2026) was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and further legal proceedings were initiated.

Police officials stated that Shahid Khan has a significant criminal history, with multiple theft-related cases registered against him in Barabanki district. Meanwhile, verification of Aman Kashyap’s criminal background is underway.

The Lucknow Police Commissionerate appreciated the role of public cooperation in solving the case and reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order through swift action against criminal elements.
