LDA Vice Chairman Reviews Proposed Wellness City Project Site in Lucknow

Lucknow: Prathamesh Kumar  inspected the proposed site of the ambitious Wellness City project being developed by the Lucknow Development Authority under the Chief Minister Urban Expansion Scheme in Lucknow.

During the inspection, the Vice Chairman reviewed the progress of the project and directed officials to expedite preparatory work to ensure the scheme is launched within the year. The large-scale project is aimed at planned urban development and improving infrastructure on the outskirts of the city.

Officials informed that the proposed Wellness City will be developed over approximately 1,197 acres along Sultanpur Road. Land for the project is being arranged through purchase, land acquisition, and the land pooling policy.

Under the land pooling policy, farmers whose land is included in the project will be provided plots free of cost within the Wellness City scheme. To simplify the process and address farmers’ concerns, the Vice Chairman directed officials to organize special camps at the site office where landowners can receive information about the project and complete land agreements.

He also instructed officers from the acquisition section to regularly sit at the site office to resolve farmers’ issues and accelerate the land agreement process. Officials were directed to ensure at least 50 percent consent or acquisition of land under the land pooling policy so that development work can begin at the earliest.

Authorities were further asked to identify villages where land agreements are yet to be completed and prioritize them. The Vice Chairman emphasized that all documentation should be thoroughly verified before the lottery process for plot allocation to avoid future disputes.

The LDA aims to formally launch the Wellness City scheme in 2026 and allot plots through a lottery system.

Senior officials present during the inspection included acquisition in-charge Sangeeta Raghav, Chief Engineer Manvendra Singh, Superintending Engineer Navneet Sharma, Zonal Officer Devansh Trivedi, and Executive Engineers Manoj Sagar and Ajit Singh, along with other engineers and staff.
