Lucknow: The Lucknow Police Commissionerate’s team from Thakurganj Police Station in the western zone has arrested four accused, including two women, in connection with a culpable homicide case following a dispute that led to the death of a 40-year-old man.
According to police officials, the incident came to light on March 6, 2026 when a written complaint was lodged by the victim’s wife stating that a group of neighbours had abused and assaulted her husband during a minor altercation. The accused allegedly attacked the victim, identified as Ramesh, with a wooden plank, causing a serious head injury.
Family members immediately rushed the injured man to the King George’s Medical University Trauma Centre in Lucknow via ambulance. However, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment the same day.
Based on the complaint, police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Thakurganj police station and launched an investigation. During the probe and evidence collection, an additional section was added to the case.

Police also recovered the alleged weapon used in the crime — a wooden plank — during the investigation.
