Uttar Pradesh Among Top Four States in Disposal of Complaints on NGSP Portal

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh has secured a place among the top four states in the country for effective disposal of election-related complaints received through the National Grievance Service Portal (NGSP 2.0), Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa announced.

He informed that the Election Commission of India operates the National Grievance Service Portal (NGSP 2.0) to facilitate the registration and tracking of election-related complaints and queries by citizens. Complaints can be lodged through the Commission’s official portal voters.eci.gov.in or via the ECINET mobile application. A valid mobile number or email ID is mandatory for filing grievances, and each complaint is assigned a fixed timeline for resolution.

During the Special Summary Revision period in February 2026, a total of 22,469 complaints were received on the NGSP portal in Uttar Pradesh. Out of these, 21,864 complaints — accounting for 97.3 percent — have been resolved in a time-bound and quality-driven manner.

Based on disposal performance in February, Uttar Pradesh ranked fourth nationwide. Notably, states placed above Uttar Pradesh — Mizoram, Ladakh and Uttarakhand — have comparatively smaller populations and significantly fewer complaints. Despite handling a much larger volume of grievances, Uttar Pradesh demonstrated commendable efficiency in ensuring timely redressal.

The Chief Electoral Officer further stated that after the disposal of complaints, citizens are asked to rate their satisfaction on a scale of 1 to 3. Based on public feedback over the past month, Uttar Pradesh secured the first rank in the country in terms of citizen satisfaction ratings.

The achievement highlights the state’s commitment to strengthening electoral transparency, responsiveness and citizen-centric governance.
