Bareilly: A vibrant Kavi Sammelan titled ‘Sahitya Sarita’ was organized on Thursday at the auditorium of Shri Ram Murti Smarak (SRMS) Riddhima, where poets from different cities captivated the audience with powerful and thought-provoking recitations.
The event featured noted poets including Umesh Trigunayat “Adbhut” from Pilibhit, Himanshu Shrotriya “Nishpaksh” from Bareilly, Dr. K.P. Singh “Vikal Bahraichi” from Pantnagar, Deepa Virmani from Bareilly, P.K. Diwana, and Dr. Sanjay Gupta.
Umesh Trigunayat’s satirical verses reflected the realities of worldly conduct, while Himanshu Shrotriya “Nishpaksh” delivered stirring lines emphasizing the preservation of culture and ethical values. His poetry drew attention to the dangers of moral distortion and social discord.
P.K. Diwana infused the gathering with patriotic fervor through bold verses addressing national pride. Poetess Deepa Virmani moved the audience with a lyrical portrayal of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita, evoking deep emotional resonance.
Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Head of the Orthopedic Department at SRMS Medical College, earned applause for his sensitive and expressive poetry. Dr. K.P. Singh “Vikal” inspired listeners with motivational verses on courage and perseverance, and also highlighted the dignity and significance of daughters in society.

The programme was graced by SRMS Trust Founder and Chairman Dev Murti, Asha Murti, Aditya Murti, Richa Murti, Devisha Murti, Subhash Mehra, Dr. Prabhakar Gupta, Dr. Anuj Kumar, Dr. Shailesh Saxena, Dr. Ashish Kumar and Dr. Rita Sharma.
The evening concluded on a high note, leaving the audience enriched with literary inspiration and cultural pride.
