Lucknow: Under the ongoing Mission Shakti 5.0 campaign, Sarojini Nagar Police organized an awareness program at Hiralal Girls PG College in Gauri, Lucknow, to educate students on women’s safety, legal rights, and cybercrime prevention.
During the session, police officials highlighted the growing risks associated with increased use of the internet and social media. They informed students that incidents of cyber fraud and online harassment are rising steadily, making vigilance essential. The officers advised students not to click on unknown links, refrain from sharing OTPs or confidential banking information, and immediately report any suspicious online activity.
Officials also informed attendees that Mission Shakti centers are operational at all police stations under the Lucknow Commissionerate, where complaints related to women are addressed on a priority basis. Students were briefed about key helpline numbers, including 1090 (Women Power Line), 112 (Emergency Service), 108 (Ambulance), 1098 (Child Helpline), 1076 (Public Grievance), and 1930 (Cyber Crime Helpline). They were also guided on how to register complaints online through the UP Cop App.

At the conclusion of the program, students pledged to remain vigilant about women’s safety and cyber awareness. Police officials stated that the objective of such initiatives is to empower young women with knowledge and ensure a safer environment for them both offline and online.
