Regency Health Lucknow Unveils Next-Generation Cath Lab to Strengthen Cardiac and Neurovascular Care

Lucknow: Regency Health Lucknow has unveiled a next-generation catheterisation (cath) lab at its Lucknow facility, marking a significant step towards strengthening advanced interventional care in cardiology and neurovascular medicine. The newly launched system is designed to support safer, faster and more precise minimally invasive procedures through high-definition real-time imaging, improved workflow efficiency and enhanced patient comfort.

The inauguration comes at a time when hospitals are witnessing a steady rise in complex cardiac and neurovascular interventions, alongside a growing shift towards minimally invasive treatment approaches. In this evolving clinical landscape, advanced cath lab infrastructure plays a crucial role in improving procedural accuracy, managing clinical risks and ensuring better outcomes for patients dependent on image-guided interventions.

Sharing the hospital’s long-term clinical vision, Regency Health Managing Director Dr Atul Kapoor said that as case complexity increases, treatment outcomes depend not only on the physician’s expertise but also on the reliability of supporting technology. “This cath lab enhances that reliability and enables doctors to perform advanced cardiac and neurovascular interventions with greater precision and consistency,” he said.

Regency Health CEO Abhishek Kapoor highlighted the importance of infrastructure and safety in interventional care. He noted that the new cath lab strengthens the hospital’s ability to support complex procedures at scale, with improved control over imaging quality, radiation exposure and workflow efficiency, directly impacting treatment outcomes and care reliability.

The state-of-the-art cath lab incorporates several patient-centric and physician-friendly features aimed at improving safety and procedural performance. Compared to older platforms, it offers an average reduction of 50 per cent in X-ray dose, while specialised low-dose settings can reduce radiation exposure by up to 70 per cent without compromising image clarity. The system is equipped with a large 12-inch, 16-bit flat-panel detector that provides high-resolution visualisation of complex anatomy, including coronary branches, neurovascular structures and tumour vascularisation, within a wide viewing area. Integrated tablet-like table-side controls further enable smoother workflow, quicker procedures and better patient positioning during lengthy or complex interventions.

Commenting on the clinical impact, Dr Harshit Gupta, Senior Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Regency Health Lucknow, said that visual clarity and radiation dose are critical factors influencing every decision during interventional procedures. “This system delivers stable, high-quality imaging at lower exposure levels, which is especially important in long or repeat cases. It allows us to work with greater accuracy and manage risks more effectively,” he said.

With the launch of the advanced cath lab, Regency Health Lucknow has reinforced its commitment to technology-driven, patient-centric healthcare and strengthened its role in delivering advanced cardiac and neurovascular interventions in the region.
