Lucknow: Apollo Hospitals Lucknow organised “UMANG – Celebration of Life”, a heartfelt programme dedicated to honouring the courage, resilience and inspiring journeys of cancer survivors and caregivers. The event was held at Hotel Holiday Inn, Kanpur Road, and brought together over 150 cancer survivors, their families, doctors, caregivers and guests in an atmosphere of hope and positivity.
The programme was attended by Dr. Mayank Somani, MD & CEO, Apollo Hospitals Lucknow; Dr. Harit Chaturvedi, eminent oncologist; Dr. Sapna Nangia, Radiation Oncology Specialist; and A.P. Maheshwari, former Director General, CRPF. Their presence highlighted the importance of holistic and compassionate cancer care.
Five cancer survivors shared their personal stories of diagnosis, treatment and recovery, inspiring the audience with their strength and determination. The event also featured cultural performances by cancer survivors, including dance and singing, symbolising renewed confidence and joy. A special theatrical performance by Apollo Hospitals staff highlighted the importance of emotional support and teamwork in the healing journey.
Renowned educator and motivational speaker Vikas Divyakirti attended as Chief Guest and praised the courage and discipline of cancer warriors, calling them a source of inspiration for society.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mayank Somani said that UMANG reflects Apollo Hospitals’ commitment to holistic healing, combining advanced medical care with empathy, encouragement and community support.
The event concluded with the felicitation of cancer warriors, celebrating life, resilience and hope beyond cancer.
