Dehradun: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat will be on a two-day visit to Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, on February 22 and 23. His visit is part of a nationwide series of programmes being organised to mark the centenary year of the RSS.

During his stay, two major events have been scheduled. A Prabuddh Jan Sammelan (Intellectuals’ Conference) will be held on February 22, followed by a Ex-Servicemen’s Conference on February 23. On both occasions, the RSS Chief is expected to address the gatherings, where he will likely share his views on social, educational and ideological issues of contemporary relevance.

In view of the proposed visit, preparations by the RSS organisation have gained momentum in Dehradun. The programmes are aimed at strengthening dialogue with different sections of society and highlighting the vision and values of the Sangh during its 100th year.

Providing details, Sanjay Kumar, Prachar Pramukh of Uttarakhand Prant, said that on the occasion of the RSS centenary, the Sarsanghchalak and Sarkaryavah are travelling to various parts of the country to engage in dialogue with eminent citizens and social groups. “As part of this initiative, Dr Mohan Bhagwat’s visit to Dehradun has been scheduled. This tour will not only underline the significance of the RSS centenary year but will also serve as an important opportunity to connect directly with the people,” he said.

The visit is expected to draw wide participation from intellectuals, former defence personnel and members of civil society, making it a key event in the RSS centenary celebrations in Uttarakhand.
