Nagaram Police Arrest Wanted Suspect in Attempted Murder Case, Seize Murder Weapon

Lucknow | Nagaram police, operating under the South Zone of the Lucknow Police Commissionerate, have arrested a wanted suspect in a violent attack case and recovered the weapon used in the assault.

According to police reports, the incident occurred on January 26, 2026, in Salem Pur Achaka village. Mithailal, a resident of the village, filed a complaint at Nagaram police station stating that his son, Govind, had returned home around 2:20 PM and was sitting near a local grocery shop when a group of individuals attacked him with a hammer. The attackers, allegedly motivated by an old rivalry, included Dipak (son of Shripal), Shripal (son of Hirai), Shripal’s wife, Gudia (daughter of Shripal), and Dipanshu (resident of Hulas Kheda, Mohanlalganj police station area). Govind sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Sanjeevani Hospital, Mohanlalganj.

An FIR was registered at Nagaram police station under Case Crime No. 18/26, under Sections 191(2), 115(2), 118(1), 352, 351(3), and 109(1) of the BNS Act. During the investigation, a police team acting on a tip-off apprehended Dipak Kumar (22), son of Shripal, on January 31, 2026, near the Sameci Canal Bridge area. The hammer used in the attack was recovered from his possession.

The accused has been taken into judicial custody, and further legal action is underway. The arresting team included Sub-Inspector Chandra Bahadur Yadav, Sub-Inspector Rajneesh Kumar, and Constable Akash Kumar.
